Training of Trainers (ToT) Workshop for Reading Promotion for National Library Staff
The National Library of Sri Lanka (NLSL) has requested
the KDU library team to conduct a training workshop on reading promotion in
Training of Trainers (ToT) model. The KDU staff has conducted the workshop on
19th September 2024 at Auditorium NLSL.

Seneviratne, Librarian; H.D. Hiruni Kanchana, Senior Assistant Librarian; and
M.P. Rajapaksha, Senior Assistant Librarian, Mr. Aruna Thilanka, Assistant
Librarian KDU, had served in the workshop as resource
persons and covered important topics such as Mile Posting of reading sessions, Planning
the reading engagement; Effective Reading Methods, which introduced innovative
techniques to foster active and engaged reading habits; and Mind Mapping as an
effective note taking method and reviewing tool to improve reading
comprehension and knowledge retention. The workshop was attended
by approximately 20 NLSL staff members, including Mr. W. Sunil, Director
General, and Mrs. Padma Bandaranayake, Director of the National Library &
Documentation Centre.
