Launching of the National Digital Repository Centre on Defence Studies
The Inaugural Session marked the official launching of the National Digital Repository Centre on Defence Studies as Sri Lanka’s first Defence-related digital library collection centre- a collaborative project of the KDU Library and the Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies. The project was generously sponsored by Professor Emeritus Kusuma Cooray in memory of her late husband MG Cooray. The repository has been launched by General GDH Kamal Gunaratne (Retd.) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc MPhil, Secretary—Ministry of Defence, on September 29, 2022, at the opening ceremony of the university's International Research Conference. This is Sri Lanka's first defence-related digital library repository. As the only defence university in Sri Lanka, the KDU, serves as the hub of information on defence and security studies through this repository center to users who seek reliable information sources on defence and security studies.
